Pinto Family Supports Guide Dog Foundation Smithtown, NY - October 19, 2007 - In 2000, the Pinto family and Oxford Management Services joined a special group of people when they became puppy sponsors for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. Since then, they have sponsored another pup and committed to sponsoring a third. Dr. Richard Pinto, OMS’ Chairman, believes strongly in giving back to his community; this responsibility to fellow citizens is reflected in OMS’ vision and company values. For over 60 years, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, headquartered in Smithtown, New York, has provided guide and service dogs free of charge to people who are blind or visually impaired or who have other special needs and desire the increased independence, mobility, and companionship an assistance dog brings. Dog sponsors help offset the cost of raising, training, and placing the dog with a person with disabilities. Room and board during a 25-day training program, training to become a guide dog/handler team, transportation to and from the school, and lifetime aftercare services are all provided to students at no cost. The Foundation is supported entirely by donations from generous individuals, corporations, and service organizations and is accredited by the International Guide Dog Federation. For more information of the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, please visit www.guidedog.org or contact Bill Krol, Communications Manager at (631) 930-9034. Oxford Management Services was founded in 1995 and is a leader in developing innovative and effective accounts receivables management solutions. |
